Fees and Rebates

Session Fees vary depending on your circumstance and method of referral. A standard 50 minute counselling consultation fee ranges from $225 – $235. Additional charge applies for evening and out of office appointments.
Assessment Fees range from $250 – $280 per hour of assessment, and these do not attract a Medicare rebate. Assessments are individually quoted.
Medicare rebates are available for counselling clients referred by a General Practitioner who are deemed suitable for a Mental Health Care Plan. You can receive rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
All our psychologists at Kare Psychology are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and have Medicare provider numbers which enables clients to claim a Medicare rebate for individual counselling sessions and or group sessions.
At Kare Psychology we are usually able to process your Medicare rebates on your behalf within 7 days of the appointment. We provide this option to reduce your stress – as the client you won’t need to visit a Medicare centre to claim and receive your rebate.
A referral is required prior to your first appointment with your psychologist in order to receive a Medicare rebates.
Additional Referral Methods
Clients may access therapy sessions under other referral methods if suitable. See below. Client that are eligible to be referred under Workcover or NDIA have the cost of sessions covered by the referring body however a gap fee might be required.
Private health insurance – Client’s with private health insurance
Workcover – A person suffering a from mental health issues that has resulted from a work-related injury or illness (you will need to speak to your general practitioner and/or employer about eligibility)
We accept NDIS referrals for patients that are self-managed or plan managed.
Cancellation Policy
A cancellation fee applies to cancellations of less than 48hrs notice. Appointments can be rescheduled by contacting Kare Psychology either by phone or email at reception@karepsychology.com.au
